15-inch MacBook Air will be released this year

In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg writer Mark Gurman mentioned when the 15-inch MacBook Air model hit the market.

According to BGR , Gurman said the new MacBook Air model will be launched as soon as this year, and that will be just one of the new Macs launching in 2023. Even so, Apple is unlikely to launch the MacBook 12. inches if recent reports are accurate. Mr. Gurman believes that the 15-inch MacBook Pro could be the most remarkable Mac Apple has brought to the table this year.

Apple refreshed the MacBook Air last year to bring a new design and M2 chip. The product has a screen with a notch at the top like the MacBook Pro models. The screen measures 13.6 inches and is slightly larger than the 13.3 inches of previous MacBook Air models.

It’s more likely that the 15-inch MacBook Air will have a similar design as Apple is less likely to come up with a major redesign within a year. However, the larger screen of the 15-inch MacBook Air will suit users who need more screen space. Furthermore, the larger size means Apple can increase the battery size.

Earlier, a report from MacRumors said that Apple could use a 15.5-inch screen panel for the new MacBook Air. This information comes from analyst Ross Young, who has a good track record of predicting Apple’s moves. Production of the 15.5-inch display will begin in the first quarter of 2023.

Besides, Mr. Gurman also said that Apple will launch new versions of MacBook Pro this year with 14-inch and 16-inch sizes like last year, but they still retain the same design as the current models. The only change will be related to the specifications as Apple uses the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips on these products.

Furthermore, Apple will also launch a new Mac Pro this year, with the M2 Ultra chip and soldered RAM making memory upgrades impossible. This is quite disappointing in the context that the Mac Pro is said to retain the same design as the 2019 Mac Pro model.

An earlier report said Apple is likely to launch three new Macs in March of this year, and the 15-inch MacBook Air could be one of them.
