The Lenovo brand could rely on the success of the venerable ThinkPad for its next flagship.
The ThinkPad is without a doubt one of the most iconic laptop models. And according to the “SnoopyTech” Twitter account, Lenovo could soon rely on this brand again for a new smartphone project. As we know, Motorola, the manufacturer’s “mobile” brand, is struggling to impose itself on the market. On the high end, Lenovo intends to return with a new premium model that would highlight the qualities of the ThinkPad range, the “ThinkPhone”.
The smartphone’s technical sheet looks quite impressive since, according to a first leak, we would find a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor under the hood, a 6.6″ OLED screen, 8 to 12 GB of RAM, and a combination of several photo sensors, including a 50-megapixel main sensor. The ThinkPhone would stand out from other smartphones in terms of its design. It would be fully waterproof, with an IP68 standard, and would adopt a “striated” design. It could also inherit some functions unique to ThinkPads.
No indication of the moment of a release date. Since several visuals have already been shared on social networks, its marketing seems imminent. It should therefore not be surprising to see the device point the tip of its nose in February, on the occasion of the Mobile World Congress
