Game company Ubisoft didn’t go ahead with previous E3 plans to host their own event.
According to Neowin , E3 2023 is likely to become less hectic because another major game publisher has announced the cancellation of plans to participate in the event. Although the company confirmed last month that it would be at the conference with the greatest preparations, those plans have now changed, as Ubisoft said it would be pulling out of the E3 roster in the summer
Now the company wants to move in a different direction, which is to organize Ubisoft Forward, an event the company has held since 2020 to showcase their upcoming games in case E3 is not held.
Similarly, Xbox will also be hosting their “Forward” event during the week of E3 being held, which is scheduled to start on June 12. Information on what will be revealed at the event will be announced in the near future.
After two years of canceled events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Entertainment Software Association announced last year its intention to hold E3 back in 2023 with an in-person and internet event. However, almost all the major game publishers have pulled out of the game show event, including Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and now Ubisoft, to pursue their own independent showcases
