MacOS Sonoma was presented today at WWDC 2023 the new macOS 14 Sonoma with much news for its Macs, especially for Apple Silicon chip products
For its new operating system, Apple decision maker to call it macOS Sonoma. This is a wine region, California of running, which is very popular in the United States. It so was normal for Apple to honor it after Yosemite National Park or the coastal city of Monterey.
Widgets arrive on macOS Sonoma
Widgets can now be placed out of the notification center and are finally available on the desktop. In order not to be cumbersome and distract the user, these are put in the background, with reduced opacity, when another window opens. In addition, you do not need to install specific apps to use widgets on Mac as widgets are replicated by the nearby iPhone, so if there are compatible apps, they will appear directly on the new widgets add screen.
In addition, widgets become interactive, allowing the user to check reminders, play or pause multimedia content, access home automation features, and perform different tasks directly from the Mac’s Desktop
Video-conferences with macOS
Improvements are also available in video calls and conferences with new split-screen overlay systems during calls. Basically, Apple Silicon processes the video by separating the subject from the background to be able to work best with presentations. And it works on all apps like Zoom, Teams, and many more.
In detail, Presenter Overlay highlights the person he presents by placing it above the content he is sharing. In addition, the Reactions feature allows users to share their reactions by easily adding balloons, confetti, hearts, and much more in a video, similar to the effects we have used for years on iMessage
The Improvements of Safari
Safari is improved and now offers even more features to browse the web. First of all, it becomes the fastest browser in the world, thanks to the constant updating of its WebKit core. For private browsing, Apple works best to remove trackers from browsing when this mode of navigation is enabled. Better Passkeys support for sharing family passwords arrives and comprehensive web app support comes with the ability to save a web app in the app dock and easily reopen it.
Thanks to the profiles it is possible to switch from one account to another on the same website, such as a personal and a school or work account, as well as you can separate all browsing data based on the profile with which you login-in in Safari. All this, with the possibility to easily and quickly change the navigation profile, keeps cookies, history, extensions, panel groups, and favorites separate.
