ChatGPT for Android coming soon

After the waiting period, Android users will be able to experience the “original” ChatGPT app in a few days. Currently, the application is available on the Play Store but not to download.

The official Twitter account of OpenAI, the organization that operates ChatGPT, announced the chatbot’s Android app will be available in the next few days. Currently, users can “pre-order” on the Play Store

According to TechCrunch, the ChatGPT app for Android will be pretty similar to the iOS version, introduced two months ago, with most of the functionality available on the web-based version.

Users can also sync chats and settings across different devices, paying for access to GPT-4, a more powerful, advanced version of the language model, and faster response times. Additionally, free users can access Whisper, OpenAI’s speech recognition software.

Of course, there are also certain differences because iOS and Android are different mobile operating systems in many ways. For example, ChatGPT on Apple devices will support integration with Siri and Shortcuts.

On Twitter, OpenAI said that ChatGPT’s Android application will be released to users next week. Most likely for the US market, before turning to other places in the near future.

Currently, Android users can still use ChatGPT on the web, through a browser, but the experience of a dedicated mobile app will be superior. That is proven with the version of ChatGPT on iOS, the application has more than 500,000 downloads after only 6 days of launch
