At the recent Scary Fast event, Apple officially announced a new series of internal chips for its Mac products with M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max all manufactured on the 3nm process.
According to Neowin, the M3 is a chip equipped with an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, while the M3 Pro chip has a 12-core CPU and 18-core GPU, and the M3 Max chip has a 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU. Apple proudly claims the integrated GPU has great graphics capabilities along with hardware-based ray tracing.
Additionally, Apple said the new chips support a feature called Dynamic Caching. This is an industry-first offering that provides the exact amount of memory used for each task and is considered the foundation of the new GPU architecture. It significantly increases average GPU usage, providing a performance boost for the most demanding professional applications and games.
models The new chips will be available on the new MacBook Pro announced by Apple, including 14-inch models starting at $1,499 with an M3 chip and 16-inch models starting at $2,499 with an M3 Pro chip. Particularly models with the M3 Pro/Max chip will have the option of Space Black – a beautiful new color. The M3 Pro/Max models also have a silver color option, while the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 comes in silver and space gray.
The M3 chip will also be added to the refreshed version of the iMac 24-inch all-in-one computer. Apple says the new chip delivers another major leap in performance for the iMac, featuring an 8-core CPU, up to 10-core GPU and support for up to 24GB of unified memory.
