The technology world has just received shocking news about 71 million account information being leaked on dark websites.
According to TechRadar , a huge email and password leak has been quietly taking place on the dark web for the past 4 months, but only now has the cybersecurity community discovered it.
Accordingly, the data leak testing service “Have I Been Pwned?” (HIBP) recently added a new database containing approximately 71 million email addresses to the platform. Now, people can easily check if their email is on this list and from which service it was leaked.
Just visit HIBP’s website at www.haveibeenpwned.com and enter your email. stealing malware If the email appears as “Naz.API”, that means you’ve most likely been infected with a password- in the past. While it’s impossible to determine exactly which services leaked passwords, it does warn about some popular services that may be affected, including Facebook, Yahoo, Roblox, eBay, and more.
What’s worrying is that a third of these 71 million emails are completely new, never appearing in previous leaks. This shows the severity of the incident and the user’s risk of being attacked.
If you discover that your email has been leaked on the service, immediately do the following:
- Change your passwords immediately for all services you use, especially those alerted by HIBP.
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on all important accounts.
- Be careful when opening emails from unknown senders, especially emails that contain links or attachments.
- Install reliable anti-virus and anti-malware software on your computer.
