During the latest earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the number of Apple devices in use, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other products, has surpassed 2.2 billion worldwide.

According to Neowin, the giant Cupertino (USA) has announced business results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2024, with statistics ending on December 30, 2023.

Number of active and installed devices In a press release, CEO Cook said: Apple now surpasses 2.2 billion, reaching an all-time high across all products. And as customers begin to experience Apple Vision Pro, the company is committed to pursuing groundbreaking innovation.

The latest number is up about 10% since Apple last reported the number of devices in use. In February 2023, Apple revealed that the number of devices in use had reached 2 billion worldwide. According to data from Statista, the number of Apple devices in use reached 1 billion in 2016.

The new data comes when Apple prepares to ship a new class of devices, starting with the Vision Pro headphones. The mixed reality headset was first announced at last year’s WWDC (Apple Worldwide Developers Conference) keynote, and it went up for pre-order on January 19.

Apple has announced more than 600 new apps and games for the Vision Pro headphones, which are compatible with more than 1 million apps and games available for iPad. However, the compatible Vision Pro list does not include popular names like Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube.

During the earnings call, CEO Cook also talked about Apple’s ongoing work on artificial intelligence and generative AI without giving any specifics. Previous rumors suggest iOS 18 could be a major update for years to come, equipped with several AI features.

Apple’s CEO said that the company will continue to invest in many technologies in the future. That includes artificial intelligence, which Apple continues to spend a lot of time and effort on, and will share details about that ongoing work later this year.
