Although Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg criticized it, Apple Vision Pro still attracted the attention of developers.

According to TechCrunch, the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality glasses are attracting a lot of attention – especially from developers. Recently, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Greg Joswiak announced on social network X that Vision Pro now has more than 1,000 specifically designed applications. That’s up from the more than 600 apps expected to be available at launch, which Apple announced two weeks ago.

Most reviews say Apple Vision Pro is the best mixed-reality headset on the market, although it is still in development. However, its hefty $3,500 price tag could limit the market for developers. But App Store data shows that more than half of developers have adopted a paid app business model, rather than free, with in-app purchases or subscriptions included, as on the App Store. This means that even if only a few hundred customers download the app, they will still receive profits

While Vision Pro is capable of running more than 1.5 million compatible iOS and iPad apps, apps built specifically for this device are designed to take advantage of its unique capabilities. Such as streaming apps like Disney+, ESPN, MLB, PGA Tour, Max, Discovery+, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi, Fubo, Crunchyroll, Red Bull TV, IMAX, TikTok and MUBI.

In addition, many independent software developers have also adopted the new platform, for example, a YouTube replacement application called Juno has been built specifically, or entered fields that do not have many competitors such as fitness, science

While there may be a few major players that have rejected the Vision Pro, the reality is that there are still many people in Apple’s developer community interested in building the foundation for the new device.
