Apple’s latest iOS 18 update is one of the biggest updates yet, with several applications receiving significant improvements in artificial intelligence (AI) resources. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, four Apple applications are set to receive major AI overhauls, including Notes, Mail, Photos, and Fitness. However, specific details about what changes will be made to these applications are still unknown.
There have been rumors circulating that Apple is working on enhancing AI capabilities on iPhones and may be negotiating with both OpenAI and Google. However, these are only speculations, and no official confirmation has been made by Apple regarding these rumors.
It is also speculated that Apple is developing a large language model to provide data for AI chatbots. However, it is not believed that this model will be presented at the WWDC 2024 developers conference in June, as the focus of the event is primarily on artificial intelligence (AI).
In addition to the four applications mentioned above, analysts expect iOS 18 to bring new features to other applications. For instance, the Calculator application will allow users to create equations, Apple Maps will receive updated topographic maps and personalized routes, and personal assistant Siri may receive major AI updates to make it more useful to users.
