After today’s WWDC keynote event, Apple rolled out the initial betas of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, and visionOS 2 for developers.
Developers can access the betas by navigating to the Settings app on their device, selecting the Software Update section, choosing the “Beta Updates” option, and enabling the Developer Beta. It’s important to note that downloading and installing the beta requires an Apple ID linked to a developer account, although Apple also permits the installation of beta software for free developer accounts.
However, we advise against installing the initial betas on a primary device. If you’re interested in experimenting with the betas, we recommend using a secondary device. Typically, early versions of iOS and macOS contain significant bugs, so if you do decide to install them on a primary device, it’s crucial to create a backup first.
The first public beta is scheduled to be released in July.
