Zoom has recently introduced several new features in its latest update, including the integration of an AI Companion into Zoom Docs. This new feature aims to compete with Google Docs.
Users with paid Zoom Workplace plans from version 6.1.6 and above can now access the latest features, including the AI Companion, and create unlimited documents.
According to Smita Hashim, Product Manager at Zoom, Zoom Docs is the first product within the Zoom Workplace to fully integrate linguistic AI. It converts information from Zoom Meetings into documents, which helps teams stay focused on other work.
Zoom Docs provides a flexible workspace with drag-and-drop content blocks, text, tables, and images. It allows users to easily populate content from Zoom Meetings into documents for quick information transfer. The AI Companion can summarize, draft, and fill in information, allowing users to focus on creating engaging plans and projects.
For educators using Zoom, Zoom Docs will create a summary for meetings based on the provided documents. This makes it simple to find, review, and share meeting summaries with others in the same Workplace space.
The AI Companion feature can support text editing based on user requirements, such as adding or shortening text and changing the style to suit a specific audience.
What sets Zoom Docs apart from other document editing platforms is its integration within the Zoom platform. This makes workflows simple and fast by matching Zoom content. Documents can be shared in Zoom Team Chat, edited within Zoom Meetings, and accessed from various clients, maintaining content, progress, and activity in the same collaboration center.
Zoom AI Companion currently supports summarizing conversations in 38 languages, with multilingual support, although some features may be limited in certain regions.
