In the upcoming iOS 15.1 update, Apple users will have the ability to change their iCloud email address with ease. This highly anticipated feature will allow iPhone and iPad users to modify or delete their iCloud email addresses directly from their devices. The update will introduce a simple process for changing the primary email address associated with their Apple Account and iCloud email address through a toggle button in the Settings app.
To change the iCloud email address, users can navigate to Settings, select their Apple account name at the top of the page, go to Sign In & Security, and choose the email address they wish to change. A “Change Email Address” button will be available for users to initiate the process.
However, it’s important to note that after the email address change, users will no longer receive emails from the old addresses, and these addresses will not be available for FaceTime and iMessage.
This new feature will be particularly beneficial for individuals who have been using the same Apple Account for an extended period and are looking to update their email addresses. Previously, using an iCloud alias to send emails did not fully protect the underlying email address, especially when collaborating on iCloud documents. With the iOS 15.1 update, Apple aims to provide users with more control and flexibility over their account information.
