iPhone users will soon be able to monitor the exact time required to fully charge their device’s battery. This new functionality is part of the upcoming iOS 18.2 beta update, which includes a hidden framework known as ‘Battery Intelligence.’
The Battery Intelligence feature aims to predict the charging time for an iPhone. It not only offers an estimate for reaching a full charge but also allows users to view the time needed to attain various battery levels, such as 80%. This capability can be particularly useful for users who wish to manage their charging habits more effectively.
With Battery Intelligence, individuals can quickly determine what percentage their device will charge within a specific duration, enabling informed decisions about when to charge. Additionally, users concerned about battery longevity will benefit from knowing the optimal time to disconnect the charger, particularly if they wish to avoid charging beyond 100%.
It’s important to note that Battery Intelligence has not yet been activated in the current iOS 18.2 beta, leaving its official availability uncertain. Apple might choose to postpone this feature until iOS 18.3, or it could be removed altogether.
In addition to Battery Intelligence, iOS 18.2 is expected to bring several other enhancements, including new artificial intelligence tools such as Image Playground, Genmoji, ChatGPT, and Visual Intelligence integration, as well as enhancements to the Camera Control button and the Find My feature. The official release of iOS 18.2 is anticipated for early December.
