During a separate Q&A stream hosted on the Microsoft Store on August 19, Microsoft revealed a lot more about what to expect from the Surface Duo camera.
According to Neowin, the camera is one of the most used features on mobile, so many people on the Surface Duo are expecting information about it. A number of screens have now announced a list of camera applications for future phones.
The image shows the app adhering to a traditional camera app layout, which includes a view from the lens that covers the entire screen, with a large circular shutter button overlaid on the image. More interestingly, we can also see different shooting modes, although these are also not groundbreaking with users being able to shoot one of the modes: photo, video, slow-mo, portrait or panorama. At the top of the UI are options for turning the flash on / off and setting a timer for taking pictures.
However, the screenshot does not reveal exactly how well the 11MP camera on the Surface Duo works. The best way is to wait until September 10, when the Surface Duo is expected to be released to learn more about it. Even so, it seems that the camera is not the highlight of the device but instead is a unique hinged dual-display design.
