Great news for gamers. GamePass comes to iPhone and iPad via browser. Without Apple’s own application, which refuses to implement Microsoft’s game streaming service in its operating system, without being able to control the games in the catalog, Microsoft has opted for direct access via the browser.
Three browsers are supported: Edge, Chrome and Safari. To access the service, simply log on to xbox.com/play and subscribe to the one or three month trial plan (GamePass Ultimate). It is preferable to have a compatible Bluetooth controller. However, some games are also playable in touch.
This service will initially only be available in a closed beta. “This limited beta is an opportunity for us to test our system and learn: We will continue to send more invitations regularly, analyze feedback, improve performance and make it compatible with more devices,” Microsoft said in a press statement.
More than 100 titles will be accessible via the service, through this “cloud” formula. On PC and consoles, however, gamers have access to over 400 games, including major Xbox and PC productions, indie games, and third-party titles ranging from Resident Evil and Dirt to Star Wars and Wolfenstein.
