In the iOS 15.2 update, Apple introduced the App Privacy Report feature, which helps users better manage and monitor privacy from apps.
According to Apple’s description, the feature “shows how often apps use permissions you’ve granted to access your data, like location or microphone. The report also includes details of the activity. the network activity of each application, the network activity of the website, and the domains most frequently contacted”.
Enable/disable the App Security Report feature
After successfully upgrading to iOS 15.2, go to Settings > Privacy > App Security Report, then click Enable App Security Reporting to enable this feature.
To disable this feature, readers just need to go back to Settings > Privacy > App Security Report, then click Turn off App Security Report and you‘re done.
Use the App Security Report feature
All exploits of privacy apps will be recorded and detailed in the Application Security Report. Specifically, the report is divided into 4 different sections:
- Sensors and data access: apps that accessed data or sensors in the last 7 days.
- Application network activity: applications that contacted domains in the last 7 days.
- Site network activity: sites contacting domains in the last 7 days.
- Most contacted domains: domains (domains) contacted by one or more apps or websites in the last 7 days.
And for each specific category, readers can click on each app, website, or domain to see a detailed report on the time and activity of accessing privacy.
