Sony is rolling out a new way for gamers to share clips and screenshots.

According to Engadget, Sony is gradually rolling out an option that allows PS5 players to access and share screenshots and clips from the PS App on iOS and Android. The company began testing the feature in Canada and Japan in October 2021.

At the beginning of the feature rollout, players in the Americas such as the US, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay will have access to it in the coming days. Players will be able to view and share their PS5 shots right on the mobile app with ease.

Sony will expand this feature to more countries next month. According to some reports, at the end of January, a group of players outside of Canada and Japan had access to the feature, indicating that Sony has a wider rollout of the feature coming.

To use it you’ll need to manually enable the feature on your PS5 by going to the Captures tab of the settings menu and turning on the Auto-Upload option. On the PS App, you’ll need to enable the Captures option in the Library. You’ll then be able to download the clips and screenshots to your phone or tablet.

PS5 will upload all clips less than 3 minutes long, as long as they are not in 4K format. All screenshots taken with the Create button or the Create Menu shortcut will also be uploaded. Screenshots and clips will be stored on Sony’s servers for 14 days, and also on the game console’s memory.

While the 14-day storage period is a confusing limitation, it’s a useful way to get your screenshots and clips on your phone. You can also share them on social networks and with your friends, without using the PS5’s limited sharing options or using a complicated USB stick.
