A flaw exploiting Bluetooth allows an iPhone to be blocked under iOS 17

Flipper Zero is a popular tool on TikTok that can control various devices through infrared and wireless waves. However, it has been reported that iPhones running iOS 17.

Flipper Zero can be used for malicious activities, as it can bombard an iPhone with Bluetooth requests making it almost unusable, and causing a denial of service attack.

It uses an application, called Apple BLE Spam which has a Lockup Crash attack that can quickly crash iPhones running iOS 17.0.3. iPhones with iOS 16 are not affected. For now, Apple has not provided a solution for this issue. It is rare to encounter someone using a Flipper Zero to attack iPhones, but there is still a risk. To be safe, users can disable Bluetooth until Apple releases a fix.
