In the blog post, Amazon revealed there will be 3 models of satellite internet devices under the Kuiper project, notably 2 models with a compact design when compared to SpaceX’s Starlink.
According to BI, Amazon said the device’s satellite internet is small, affordable, and has more capabilities than the competition. These terminals are part of the Kuiper project – Amazon’s low-orbit satellite network. This is the network that the retail giant envisions will include thousands of orbiting satellites that aim to connect communities around the globe to the internet.
The company says the standard model will cost less than $ 400 to manufacture, the device has a size of 28 x 28 cm and can achieve connection speeds of up to 400 Mb / s. Meanwhile, the terminal with a square size with a side of only nearly 18 cm will be the most affordable choice of Amazon and the third device with the largest size (48 x 76 cm). Amazon has not announced user pricing and expected total costs yet.
