AMD was hacked, facing the risk of serious data leakage

AMD has experienced a significant cyber attack resulting in the potential exposure of critical data. According to reports from WCCF Tech and Bloomberg, the chip manufacturer is investigating a suspected cyber attack that has led to the theft of sensitive information, including product details, source code, future product plans, and employee data. It has been reported that a hacker group known as IntelBroker was behind the attack. AMD has confirmed the incident and is collaborating with law enforcement to understand the extent of the breach.

The stolen data includes ROMs, firmware, source code, asset files, employee and customer databases, financial information, future product plans, and spec sheet techniques. Details of exposed employee information encompass user IDs, job functions, email addresses, employment statuses, full names, and business phone numbers.

This is not the first time that AMD has been targeted by cyber-attacks. In 2022, the RansomHouse group declared the theft of 450 GB of AMD data. Other well-known technology companies such as NVIDIA and Rockstar Games have also fallen victim to similar attacks.

Currently, some leaked data has appeared on Breach Forums. While AMD has not disclosed specific details about the incident, the company has committed to closely collaborating with authorities to thoroughly investigate and assess the severity of the attack.
