Android smartphones using Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip will surpass iPhone 16

As mobile technology continues to advance, there is ongoing competition between Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips and Apple’s A-series chips. Snapdragon chips are known for their exceptional performance, but they have been lagging behind A-series chips in terms of raw power. However, with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and A18, it is unclear who will come out on top. It will be interesting to see how both chips compare in terms of speed, battery life, and overall performance.

As per PhoneArena’s report, the current smartphones’ processing power exceeds the average user’s requirements. However, many individuals still give priority to this aspect, along with advanced AI features and extensive software support. In this regard, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Apple A18 chips’ performance holds significant importance, as they represent cutting-edge of mobile processing power and AI capabilities. These chips are highly valued by tech enthusiasts and smartphone users alike.

Newly conducted benchmark results show that Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has beaten Apple A18 which Apple is about to equip on iPhone 16 models this fall. Specifically, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to achieve a single-core score of 3,500, while the A18 is unlikely to surpass 3,300. Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 also outperforms the competition in multi-core tests, and the GPU will also be faster. It is known that the single-core score in the test is much higher than the 2,187 that the Galaxy S24 Ultra showed.

Qualcomm has recently confirmed that it will be releasing its much-anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset in October this year. The most striking feature of this new processor is the Oryon core, which is expected to give it an edge over its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Unlike previous Snapdragon chips that made use of an Arm-licensed core, the Oryon core is a custom-designed Arm core by Qualcomm. This innovation is a direct result of Qualcomm’s acquisition of Nuvia in 2021. The Oryon core holds great potential for the company as it allows it to conduct core research and better compete with its main rival, Apple. With Qualcomm’s expertise and cutting-edge technology, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is set to revolutionize the smartphone industry.

Qualcomm is gearing up to launch its latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, which is rumored to be the company’s first 3nm chip. The chip is expected to feature powerful Oryon cores, which are designed to provide exceptional performance. In addition, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will also include Phoenix performance cores that will further enhance its processing capabilities. Qualcomm is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to give this chip a massive speed boost, and early indications suggest that the company may be on the right track. With these cutting-edge features, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is poised to be a game-changer in the world of mobile technology.

A recent leak has revealed some exciting news about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. The main core of this chip will be clocked at an impressive 4.3 GHz, which is significantly higher than the peak clock of 3.3 GHz for the Cortex-X4 on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This means that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be able to deliver faster and more powerful performance than its predecessor.

However, as with any high-performance chip, there are some potential downsides to consider. Higher clock speeds can lead to increased power consumption, which in this case can go up to 1.3V. This may cause phones running on Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to produce more heat than usual, which is something that Qualcomm, the company behind the chip, would want to avoid. It remains to be seen how this increased clock speed will affect the overall performance and reliability of the chip, but it is certainly an exciting development for mobile technology enthusiasts.

It seems that Qualcomm is currently running tests on various iterations of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. As per an earlier report, the chip’s single-core and multi-core scores were found to be 2,845 and 10,628, respectively. However, these scores fall short of Apple’s A18 chip, which outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in terms of both single-core and multi-core benchmarks.
