Apple admits to delaying iPadOS 16

Apple has officially admitted to delaying the release of the latest version of iPadOS 16, just as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reported.

According to Blazetrends, Apple usually releases the latest versions of iOS and iPadOS at the same time, however, this tradition will be broken by the company in 2022. Explaining this, Apple said: “This is a particularly important year. important for iPadOS. With a platform with features designed specifically for iPad, we have the flexibility to deliver iPadOS on our own schedule. This fall, iPadOS will ship after iOS as version 16.1 and will be available for free.”

However, Apple still does not specify when it will bring iPadOS 16.1 to users. The company also did not specify the reason for the delay, however, previous rumors said the cause of the delay stems from the Stage Manager feature.

With Stage Manager, Apple has reinvented multitasking on its tablets with multiple windows open at the same time and adjustable to different sizes. In addition, users can connect to an external display to display larger content. However, there has been some criticism of Stage Manager’s current performance with some complaining about its instability, not to mention that it is exclusive to models equipped with the M1 chip.

Analysts believe that these are the incomplete aspects that forced Apple to delay the release of iPadOS 16. This operating system is expected to be released in October.
