Apple couldn’t find a better search engine than Google

Apple’s reliance on Google as the default search engine on its devices has come under scrutiny following a recent legal ruling on Google’s monopoly power. The partnership between Apple and Google involves Google paying a significant amount of money each year to secure its position as the default search engine on Apple devices.

According to Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, there is currently no viable alternative to Google’s search engine, even if Microsoft were to sell the company to Apple. Cue expressed concerns about the quality of Microsoft’s Bing as a competitor to Google.

Despite attempts by Microsoft to sell Bing to Apple in the past, Google’s substantial payments to Apple have served as a significant barrier to any potential competitor seeking to replace Google’s position on Apple devices.

While Apple is reportedly working on developing its search engine, it remains uncertain when this project will be completed and whether it will be able to effectively compete with Google. Meanwhile, Microsoft continues to enhance Bing to narrow the gap with Google.

The ongoing competition between technology giants in the search field is expected to intensify shortly.
