Apple is expected to unveil its new AI system, ‘Apple Intelligence’, at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). According to reports, this AI system will bring new features to iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps and will include a chatbot similar to ChatGPT powered by OpenAI.

Apple Intelligence aims to enhance user experience through features such as content summaries, suggested responses, and improvements to the virtual assistant Siri. One notable aspect of this system is its ability to choose between on-device or cloud processing, depending on the task, ensuring optimal performance and security.

To uphold user privacy, Apple has stated that it will not create profiles based on personal data, and has publicly committed to not selling or reading user information.

Initially, Apple Intelligence may only be available on iPad and Mac devices using the M1 chip or later, and possibly limited to the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16. The use of new AI features will be optional, allowing users to make their own decisions about whether to utilize them or not.

This marks a significant step forward for Apple in integrating artificial intelligence into its products to enhance the user experience. However, there are questions regarding the practicality and effectiveness of Apple Intelligence, particularly in comparison to competitors like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
