Apple is about to overhaul the iPad Pro with a series of value improvements

A report claims Apple will overhaul the iPad Pro line with a series of size changes and launch a new Magic Keyboard early next year.

According to an Apple Insider report, in the latest Power On on Bloomberg, reporter Mark Gurman said the iPad product line is currently performing in an inefficient way. Even Gurman describes the iPad Pro as competing with the Mac line.

As a result, Gurman believes Apple has its best chance in years to revive the market with an overhauled iPad Pro. This will be the first major update to the iPad Pro line since 2018, where recent models have mostly focused on chip and camera changes.

Codenamed J717, J718, J720, and J721, they are all the first models to use an OLED screen instead of a mini LED backlight system. This is consistent with reports from other rumors in recent times.

Apple could also change the screen sizes on offer, where the company will launch 11-inch and 13-inch screen models instead of the 12.9-inch it used in today’s largest model.

Another change happening with the iPad Pro is the main accessory Magic Keyboard. Launched in 2020, this accessory will likely receive a drastic improvement to make the iPad Pro look more like a laptop, even with a larger trackpad.

Gurman added that Apple is unlikely to introduce this overhauled iPad Pro line during the upcoming fall event, where the company seems to focus more on the iPhone 15 series and Apple Watch. Instead, they may have to wait until next spring or early summer to appear.
