Apple has confirmed the highly anticipated iPhone 16 launch event, which will be named Glowtime, on September 9 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Cupertino, California. The event will start at 10 a.m. local time, and fans can watch it live on Apple’s official website and YouTube channel.
It is noteworthy that Apple’s decision to hold the event on a Monday is unusual as the company has traditionally chosen to host events on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. This unexpected choice has caused previous predictions to focus on dates such as September 3 or September 10.
Aside from the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max, Apple is expected to unveil two new smartwatches at the event, potentially named the Apple Watch Series 10 (or Watch X) and Watch Ultra 3. Additionally, there are rumors of a new, lower-priced smartwatch, but its release remains uncertain.
The launch of new AirPods is also surrounded by speculation. Some sources suggest the introduction of one or two new variants in September, while others predict a delayed launch in October, possibly in conjunction with the release of the new AirPods Max.
Regarding software, iOS 18 is anticipated to be released alongside the iPhone 16, while AI features in the Apple Intelligence software suite will likely be widely implemented only on the iPhone 16 starting on September 10.
Following the event, Apple may initiate pre-orders for the iPhone 16 on September 12 or 13, with the actual product release expected on September 19 or 20. The pricing structure for the iPhone 16 is projected to remain unchanged this year, except for the removal of the 128 GB variant from the iPhone 16 Pro, resulting in a starting price of $1,099 for the 256 GB variant.
