Apple quietly upgraded the Find My feature

Apple is said to have upgraded its Find My feature to allow users to track more devices than before, from 16 devices to 32 devices.

According to Gizmochina, before iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 were released, users could only add up to 16 devices to the Find My app. This number has doubled as Apple allows users to add up to 32 devices.

The updated limit applies to more device types, including AirTags, Apple headphones (including some Beats models), the new MagSafe wallet, and even third-party Find My network accessories like bicycles.

This increase in tracking limit may address the concerns of some users who quickly reached the previous 16-device limit, especially with the arrival of AirTags and the expansion of the Find My network to their devices.

The process of adding a new device to Find My remains simple. For example, to add an AirTag a user needs to bring it close to the iPhone, tap the pop-up, select a name, and then register it using the user’s Apple ID.

Increasing the number of devices supported on Find My is reflected in Apple’s support documents but has not been officially announced. Still, this is a welcome change for users who rely on the Find My network to track their belongings. It provides greater flexibility and peace of mind as users know that many of their important items can be found easily if lost.
