Other upgrades on the iMac include the standard SSD across the entire lineup. Both the 27-inch and 21.5-inch iMac offer a choice of standard 256GB SSD. The 27-inch version can provide up to 8 TB SSD, while the smaller version still stops at 1 TB Fusion Drive.

Another improvement to the 27-inch iMac is the addition of True Tone to the Retina display along with the nano texture option to reduce reflections and improve readability. Earlier, XDR Pro Display was launched with nano-textured display.

The webcam is also being upgraded on the iMac with 1,080p support for improved video calls. The company also added an Apple T2 custom security chip to the iMac. This chip improves FaceTime image quality by controlling exposure and face detection. The device also features a new array of studio-quality microphones and an improved speaker with higher fidelity.
