Apple’s latest iPhone 15 models have a starting internal memory of 128GB. Despite this, Apple’s advertising content suggests plenty of storage space for users to save their cherished moments through photos. However, the reality is that storage needs increase with time, and more than 128 GB is needed for many users. For instance, an average user can quickly fill up half of the 128GB internal memory with apps, photos, and videos. Moreover, the iPhone 15 has a 48 MP camera, meaning photos and videos consume much more memory.

Users have criticized Apple for keeping the 128 GB memory level as the standard iPhone model for almost four years. Users have been complaining about the limited base memory for many years. Before the iPhone 13 launched in 2021, iPhone users were unhappy with the 64 GB base memory level. Apple addressed this issue by increasing the base level to 128 GB. The company also increased the base level from 32GB to 64 GB with iPhone X 2018.

Apple provides iCloud for users to expand storage space for iPhone 15. However, iCloud only has 5 GB available for free before users have to pay for more capacity. This is not an ideal solution for most users, as they would instead delete valuable photos and videos than pay for more iCloud storage.

For anyone upgrading from a previous iPhone with 64GB, the 128GB internal memory of the iPhone 15 will feel enormous in comparison. However, this feeling will be short-lived as the new iPhone, with its 48 MP camera, is filled with new high-resolution photos and videos.

In conclusion, if Apple wants to make an ad showcasing its storage capacity, it should consider increasing the base level to 256GB with the iPhone 16 when it launches in the fall. Alternatively, Apple could raise the free storage level on iCloud to higher than 5GB.
