Apple released iOS 17.5.1 to fix the problem of deleted photos returning

Apple has just suddenly released iOS 17.5.1 – the update appeared just 1 week after the company provided iOS 17.5 to all users.

As reported by BGR last week, iPhone users on Reddit said that some users who updated to iOS 17.5 noticed deleted photos reappearing in their photo libraries for unknown reasons.

The creator of this topic said he was shocked to see intimate photos of two people during their time apart (separated by COVID-19) that had been permanently deleted for many years but suddenly returned. Checking on the iPad, this person discovered those photos and was very upset. According to the poster, the incident happened after updating to iOS 17.5

Besides fixing the aforementioned major bug, Apple also added several new features with iOS 17.5.1, including Pride wallpapers to celebrate Pride 2024 with bold, iconic color themes for Apple Watch, iPhone and iPad; Changed Podcast widget with new dynamic colors that change depending on listening content; detect trackers across platforms and send notifications to users if a compatible Bluetooth tracker they don’t own is traveling with them regardless of the operating system it’s paired with; The improved Apple News+ allows users to access the Today feed and News+ tab even without an internet connection.

To update iOS 17.5.1 for compatible iPhones, users should go to Settings > General > Software Update and follow the instructions.
