Apple releases iOS 16.5 for better sports news

Apple has just released a new updated version of iOS just before the developer conference – WWDC 2023 taking place early next month, including iOS 16.5, iPadOS 16.5, and macOS 13.4.
According to Neowin, they all have a dedicated Apple News section for sports. Users can update rankings, scores, and stories without having to scroll through other articles. Similarly, it also offers scorecards and fixtures in the News section, where users will be redirected to pages dedicated to specific matches

Meanwhile, Apple TV 4K users will get the Multiview feature that shows up to 4 sports streams at once in the TV app. This includes Friday Night Baseball games as well as MLS Season Pass games

Other improvements are not so impressive when both iOS 16.5 and watchOS 9.5 add Pride wallpaper and watch face options, respectively. Users can also get the usual fixes, including issues with CarPlay and Spotlight on iOS, and cross-platform Screen Time syncing.

This probably won’t be the last major update before iOS 17 is released. An earlier report from MacRumors suggests that Apple is testing iOS 16.6 privately and may offer a public beta in the near future. Whatever happens, it’s clear that Apple is reducing work on its current software in preparation to deliver major updates this fall
