Apple is expected to announce updates to the 2023 iPad lines tomorrow, October 17.
According to 9to5Mac, the iPad Air, mini, and base model will likely get a refresh in terms of specs but no design changes. This latest update will bring newer generation Apple Silicon chips to Apple’s tablet lines.
The current iPad Air line was released in spring 2022 and equipped with an M1 chip, Supercharged site said the new iPad Air will be upgraded to an M2 chip
The new iPad mini will be equipped with A16 Bionic, a small improvement compared to the current A15 Bionic chip. It was previously reported that the new iPad mini will have a new display controller to minimize the impact of scrolling stutter on the current iPad mini.
The base iPad model was last updated a year ago, the tenth generation will have a new thin-bezel design, new colors, and Touch ID located on the side. The current line uses the A14 Bionic chip, it is still unclear which chip the upcoming 11th generation will use
The iPad Pro product line will not be announced, the most recent model will be sold from October 2022. The next generation will be available late next year and is expected to be equipped with an OLED screen for the first time.
Previously, it was reported that the new Pro series will be equipped with an M3 chip and come with a new Magic Keyboard. This keyboard will make the iPad look more like a laptop with an aluminum body instead of plastic like the current Magic Keyboard.
Information indicates that the announcement of the launch of new iPad lines will only take place on Apple’s website and its YouTube channel, with no event to introduce the product
