Apple Vision Pro will not have YouTube and Netflix apps

Although it is an entertainment device with a sky-high price, Apple Vision Pro lacks the most popular applications today.

According to TechSpot, despite being hailed as the ‘ultimate entertainment device’, the upcoming $3,500 Apple Vision Pro mixed reality glasses are facing many limitations, the most notable of which is the lack of Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify apps.

According to a Bloomberg report, Netflix has no plans to develop an app for Vision Pro and doesn’t even support an iPad app on Apple’s mixed reality glasses.

Besides, even the most ardent Apple fans have to admit that the Vision Pro is a tough sell. The high price and battery life of only 2 – 2.5 hours have made many people doubt the product’s appeal.

Besides Netflix, YouTube and Spotify confirmed that they will not develop applications for Vision Pro. Users’ only solution is to access these entertainment services through a web browser, but they will not enjoy Vision Pro’s special features such as virtual desktops for videos. Additionally, users cannot download content for offline viewing and video resolution may be limited.

Netflix once developed an app specifically for Meta’s Quest glasses, but the app’s interface is outdated and hasn’t been updated in years.

Overall, the lack of dedicated Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify apps for the Vision Pro is a significant minus. Although Apple is trying to promote Vision Pro aggressively, these shortcomings may make users consider carefully before deciding to spend a large amount of money to own it.
