Apple will delay the launch of the iPhone SE 2022

CEO Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has just released the latest reports regarding Apple’s next-generation iPhone SE.

According to GSMArena, in his latest report, Young said that the production of panels for the iPhone SE 2022 will start taking place this month. This means that Apple could launch this iPhone SE model in late April or early May, and the company could start shipping the product around the same time.

The report also indicates that the iPhone SE 2022 will use the old design, which is similar to the iPhone SE 2020. This means the phone will use a 4.7-inch LCD panel with a Touch ID placed on the front of the device. In addition, the phone also comes with 5G connectivity, making it the first iPhone SE to support this connectivity.

Previously, iPhone SE 2022 was equipped with an A13 Bionic chip with 4G connectivity like on iPhone 11. If the trend continues, this year’s iPhone SE model will come with a new chip and modem like the iPhone 13, specifically the A15 Bionic and Snapdragon X60 modem.

Regarding the name, Young said the new iPhone SE will be called iPhone SE + 5G, and the product is expected to launch with the new iPad Air. The common point of these devices is that they are equipped with the A15 Bionic chip based on TSMC’s 5nm process.
