Apple will equip the iPhone 17 generation with 12 GB RAM

According to a reliable source on Weibo, the iPhone 17 lineup set to launch next year will feature 12 GB of RAM across all models, contrary to earlier reports. This move is attributed to Apple’s plans to incorporate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features in the upcoming devices.

The current iPhone 15 models have varying RAM configurations, with the standard and Pro versions offering 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM, respectively. The introduction of 12 GB of RAM in the iPhone 17 is expected to elevate performance, enabling it to rival competitors like the Galaxy S24, which also boasts 12 GB of RAM. Even with 8 GB of RAM, iPhones have showcased more efficient performance compared to high-end Android smartphones with larger RAM capacities.

Additionally, there have been rumors about the 4th generation iPhone SE featuring 8 GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence, despite being released just last year.

Furthermore, previous reports have hinted at the development of the iPhone 17 Air or Slim, expected to feature an ultra-thin design akin to the successful iPad Pro line with OLED screens.
