Battlefield coming soon to mobile

This information has just been released by Oskar Gabrielson, Director of DICE. Battlefield will soon be ported to mobile devices. The mobile version of the game will be entrusted to the Industrial Toys Studio, a small outdoor studio that will work on the project in collaboration with DICE.

“Our vision has always been to bring Battlefield to more platforms,” explains Oskar Gabrielson. “After years of prototyping, I’m very happy to let you know that our friends at Industrial Toys, who work closely with all of us here at DICE, are developing a brand new Battlefield game, bringing all-out war to smartphones by 2022. ”

DICE describes the project as ambitious. It should take the solid foundations of the episodes released on PC and consoles, and of course be multiplayer oriented. It goes without saying that the success of Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG and Fortnite has undoubtedly only reinforced Electronic Arts in its decision to free up more resources for the development of mobile games. Still, the studio that was entrusted with the franchise does not have a huge experience. Before working on Battlefield Mobile, Industrial Toys worked on two other mobile game projects, Midnight Star and its sequel.

Battlefield Mobile is slated for release sometime in 2022.
