Here’s a rumor that’s likely to be shedding a lot of ink. Unlike many other games, Activision doesn’t have to offer versions of PS5 and Xbox Series X games to current console title owners.
Despite a few rare exceptions like GTA V and Control, most games will offer a free upgrade on future consoles from Sony and Microsoft. This will, therefore, allow players who have an eligible title on PS4 or Xbox One to download the PS5 or Xbox Series X edition at no additional cost. Unfortunately, this will not always be the case
According to the documents included in the latest Warzone update, players must receive the “Cross Pack” or Ultimate Edition Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War to use the next-generation version. The price has not been announced yet, but this offer will likely cost more than the standard version of the game.
Remember that 2K Games opts for a similar policy with NBA 2K21. To get the basketball simulation on both generations, you will have to pay € 99.99 by purchasing the Mamba Forever edition. Activision should offer the same with its FPS.
Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War will be unveiled this Wednesday, August 26.
