OpenAI is in the process of rolling out the ChatGPT Search feature to free users, following its initial launch for paid users last month.

ChatGPT Search is an integrated search engine within ChatGPT that allows users to seek information and receive direct answers from the chatbot. This feature represents a significant enhancement, aimed at improving both search functionality and user interaction with artificial intelligence.

Initially, the ChatGPT Search feature was available only to subscribers of ChatGPT Plus, Teams, Enterprise, and Edu. However, OpenAI has announced plans to extend this feature to all users, including those on the free plan. Reports indicate that some free users in the U.S. are already able to access ChatGPT Search, signaling a gradual, large-scale rollout.

In addition to enhancing search capabilities, OpenAI is also introducing Advanced Voice Mode to the web version of ChatGPT. This mode allows users to engage with the chatbot using voice more naturally.

This initiative by OpenAI comes as Google has recently introduced memorization capabilities for its Gemini Advanced, which is a direct competitor to ChatGPT. It appears that OpenAI is actively working to enhance and diversify the features of ChatGPT in order to maintain its competitive edge in the AI industry.
