Dead Island 2 ‘super delayed’ game has an official release date

The sequel to the popular zombie game will officially be released 1 week earlier than expected.

According to The Verge, Dead Island 2 was first announced in 2014 and stuck in development that was fraught with trouble and delayed countless times. After the developer swaps, the game suffered a no-future situation. Until 2019, when Dambuster Studios embarked on development again, Dead Island 2 could set a release date in 2023.

In August last year, at the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, the game was confirmed to launch on February 3, 2023, but then continued to be pushed back to April 28, 2023. This makes game fans extremely bored.

But now there is good news from the publisher, according to which, Dead Island 2 will be released a week earlier on April 21, Deep Silver announced on Monday, February 13. The game will come to platforms like Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC (via Epic Games Store).

Dead Island 2 still follows the first-person action role-playing genre of its predecessor. The game is set in Los Angeles with 6 characters for players to experience. The player’s task is not merely to survive among the zombie swarms, but also to control the zombie germ inside the character itself. From there, players will gradually discover the truth about the cause of the zombie disease as well as better understand the characters in the game.
