Death Stranding is coming to PC Game Pass

According to PC Gamers, in a press release, 505 Games announced that the ‘original version’ of Hideo Kojima’s critically acclaimed epic game on the Microsoft ecosystem is first available to registered fans. The PC version of Xbox Game Pass.

The phrase ‘original version’ implies that the Game Pass version will not feature the improvements and additions made by Kojima Productions in the Death Stranding Director’s Cut. These additional components include new story missions, weapons, delivery equipment, and combat mechanics.

This may be due to existing licensing agreements between Kojima Productions and Sony. version Director’s Cut launched on PS4 and PS5 in September 2021, and while the upgrade was made available on Steam in March of this year, there could be an exclusivity agreement preventing the upgrade from being released on the Microsoft platform. Alternatively, it could just be that Kojima Productions doesn’t want to make all of the Death Stranding available to Game Pass players.

Death Stranding will be available on PC Game Pass starting August 23. 505 Games also promises to reveal more details in the Community Q&A in the next few days.
