PDF-XChange Viewer
Released in 2007, PDF-XChange Viewer is a free tool that allows you to view PDF documents, comment on them, and annotate them using dedicated tools. A major function of PDF tools, PDF-XChange Viewer offers an optical character recognition module in French and English, commonly abbreviated OCR, which allows you to analyze a scanned document to obtain a searchable PDF file within which the user can perform a search.
Among its other functions, the software offers to add comments, bookmarks, or even highlight text. As for reading functions, we find several adjustment display options with zoom, rotation, display of a grid, guides, rulers, full screen as well as opening documents by tabs. Finally, its Line driver allows you to emulate a printer and create PDFs from any Windows application that supports printing
Search and navigation features make it simple to move between documents and process large files. The user is also able to export their PDF documents to several image formats such as JPG, TIFF, PNG, BMP, or even GIF.
PDF-XChange Viewer can be downloaded from freewareshome exclusively for Windows, all free of charge. Note also that this software also exists in a paid Pro version which offers more features. Finally, a portable version of PDF-XChange Viewer is also downloadable and will be most useful if you have several Windows machines without a PDF reader.
