EA wipes out BioWare Points, some games become free

Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLC became free after BioWare Points were wiped out.

According to PC Gamers, previously the only way to buy DLC for games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age was to purchase BioWare Points, but that was rarely sold out. Of course, DLC does not retail and often has to buy multiple packages to get what the user wants.

In an email EA is sending to people who own BioWare Points in their accounts, the game’s publisher announced that the system has finally ended: “We’re contacting you to let you know that it’s started. Beginning October 11, 2022, BioWare Points will no longer be available as Origin store currency. Other currencies such as Crystals and Platinum in other BioWare titles remain unaffected.”

Some add-ons for classic BioWare RPGs that were previously purchasable only with BioWare Points are now free. You can log into Origin and get the DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 by selecting the games in the library, clicking Extra Content, then selecting Get it Free for each. game.

While Mass Effect Legendary Edition has all the single-player DLC included with it, if you own the original versions of Mass Effect 2 and 3, you can now get full of the Shadow Broker and Citadel Lair free.

multiplayer DLC packs for Mass Effect 3 will not be offered for free. In the next 3 months, players can use up the remaining BioWare Points to own them. After 11.10, they will only be available to redeem credits collected in the game.
