EA’s best games are reaching the end of their lifecycle.
According to IGN, EA has just announced the games that are about to be shut down in the near future. Accordingly, in a new note posted on EA’s Online Services Shutdown service, the company plans to shut down servers for the Crysis 3 series, Dante’s Inferno, and Dead Space 2 before the end of the year.
Specifically, Crysis 3 will close servers on September 9, while Dante’s Inferno and Dead Space 2 servers close on December 8
EA released a remake of Crysis 3 in 2021, along with Crysis and Crysis 2 franchise trilogy, unfortunately, the games in the Crysis are single-player and online only. Although Crytek announced in 2022 that it was working on Crysis 4, news about a sequel to the franchise has so far been murky.
The three games mentioned above are the latest categories that EA will stop supporting servers in 2023. Earlier this year, the company also announced that it would be shutting down the servers of the Kingdoms of Amalur series, Shadows of the Damned, Syndicate, and Warp. Earlier in October last year, EA also announced the closure of old games, most notably the game Mirror’s Edge.
