Epic compensates iOS and macOS Fortnite players

As of August, the goose that lays the golden eggs by Epic Games is no longer available on the App Store. A withdrawal initiated by Apple following a policy change within the mobile application. In protest of the App Store regulations, the publisher has indeed introduced a payment system within Fortnite, putting itself at fault in relation to the Apple app store. Since then, the two companies have been at war with each other in court, but the situation has not changed. The next hearing will not take place until May 2021.

While some have praised the publisher for its coup, others have criticized its approach, noting that the victims in this case were the players who found themselves held hostage between the two companies.

Critics that seem to have made Epic react since the latter has just announced that it will credit the accounts of iOS and macOS players with V-Bucks, Fortnite’s virtual currency. The amount awarded will be equivalent to the amount spent by players on the App Store to acquire virtual currency. Players will be able to spend their credit on any other platform on which the battle royale is available (Android, PC, consoles).

If you have purchased V-Bucks on iOS or macOS and have not spent all of them, then you will receive the equivalent in your Fortnite player account. The process should happen automatically.

A gesture that should allow the publisher to find favor with its players, harmed by its somewhat disloyal behavior towards Apple.
