Facebook admitted the problem caused the icon to turn black

Recently, there was an unexpected change to the Facebook application icon on iPhones, where it turned black and blue. This change surprised and unsettled many Facebook users, as it deviated from the traditional blue and white design. However, Facebook has officially acknowledged that this change was due to a technical error and has assured users that they are working on a fix.

According to reports, the new icon with a black background and blue icons is not well-received by users. Facebook’s media representative confirmed that it was a technical issue and has since been resolved. The fixed icon is now available in the latest version of the Facebook app, which users can download from the App Store.

It’s important to note that this issue impacted not only iOS 18 users but also affected some iOS 17 users. Although iOS 18 introduces new icon theme options, including a dark mode for the home screen, the bug also affected users on the earlier version of iOS. Some iOS 18 users even saw the icon with a white background and blue logo. However, the fix for this issue is now available for users through the latest version of the Facebook app.
