Facebook removed 4.7 million posts of hate and terrorism in the first quarter of the year

Facebook began efforts to combat misleading information during the coronavirus era. At the beginning of the last quarter of 2019, around 1.6 million such posts were removed from the Facebook platform. At the same time, 96 varnishes and 57 varnish posts from hate speech were removed.

Facebook reported on Tuesday that if we talk about the second half of 2017, there has been a 6-fold increase in the removal of hate and crime information from the Facebook platform. Facebook’s chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said that identifying and labeling misinformation is proving to be very effective. He said that 95 percent of users do not click on information labeled warning.

The company believes that the fifth Community Standards Enforcement Report is more accurate than the 2018 report. Facebook’s Messenger and Whatsapp mobile apps have also been included. The report included the photo-sharing app Instagram last year and was also informed of the company’s regulations being implemented. In such a situation, Instagram’s data will also be released in the quarter this year.

Facebook said in a blog post that included proactive data recognition technology that uses artificial intelligence to identify and ban misinformation. At the same time, as technology improves, dangerous information disseminated in sound, images and videos are identified and deleted. In addition, the company received a lot of technical assistance in eliminating drugs and unwanted content.
