Follow these 6 ways to be safe online

The internet is proving to be the most effective tool during a pandemic. With the help of the internet, online learning, as well as online shopping and working from home, have become easy. However, during this time, the number of scams from the Internet has also increased. Most victims of internet scams are people who are new to the internet. In such situations, you need to be aware of some peculiarities while using the Internet.

Use unique password

Unique passwords should always be used. A separate password must be created for each digital transaction. Avoid using your name, date of birth, and other similar details as your password. Passwords should not be shared with third parties and should be changed regularly to avoid falling victim to cyber-attacks.

Do not use public Wi-Fi

Avoid using public Wi-Fi networks when making digital transactions. This helps to avoid activities such as cyber attacks, theft, and other frauds

Use correct QR code

Always make sure you are using the correct QR code when scanning the QR code. Because hackers can easily commit fraud by using the wrong QR code during the use of payments.

Always create a strong password

Users of UPI apps like PhonePe and Google Pay should always have a strong screen lock and PIN set to pay. In addition, it should be changed from time to time. So no one can crack your screen password. A UPI address, phone number, QR code, and virtual payment address (VPA or your name @ your bank) must be shared in order for UPI-based transactions to take place. In addition, information regarding UPI-based payments may not be shared.

Use two-factor authentication

Two-factor email authentication should be used for account security. The user receives a one-time password code via SMS which is required to log in to any digital payment app or site. It should not be shared with anyone.

Cybercriminals should not open email attachments or links. Harmful malware is loaded on their system. In addition, the user should also avoid giving out his personal information through questionable web forms. Report these emails as spam and delete them from your mailbox.
