Former Rockstar employee: GTA 6 won’t be much different from GTA 5

The latest trailer for the highly anticipated game Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has garnered attention with its realistic Miami setting and detailed NPC designs. In a recent interview with Tech4Gamers, former Rockstar Games developer Obbe Vermeij shared his perspective on the upcoming game. While praising certain aspects of the trailer, Vermeij cautioned fans not to expect a revolutionary leap from GTA 6 compared to its predecessor, GTA 5.

Vermeij explained that due to the slowing pace of technological advancements, significant improvements in gameplay and graphics are becoming more challenging to achieve. He drew parallels between the noticeable differences in older gaming console generations, such as PS1 to PS2, and the more subtle improvements between PS4 and PS5.

Despite his reservations, Vermeij expressed confidence in GTA 6’s potential success and acknowledged Rockstar’s dedication to delivering an exceptional game. However, he also noted the challenge the development team may face in meeting fans’ high expectations.

The gaming community has been actively discussing Vermeij’s comments, with some agreeing that significant innovation may be unlikely in the current technological landscape. However, many fans remain hopeful that GTA 6 will introduce groundbreaking experiences and live up to the series’ legacy.

Amidst these discussions, GTA 6 continues to be one of the most highly anticipated and talked-about games, expected to make a substantial impact upon its release. The pivotal question remains whether it will satisfy fans’ expectations and propel the Grand Theft Auto series into new territory.
