Fortnite is expected to return to the iPhone this year

The Epic Games boss is counting on a regulatory change to bring Fortnite back from the dead on iOS.

If there is nothing official yet, the latest statement from Tim Sweeney, the big boss of Epic Games, leaves no doubt about the future of the franchise.

Remember, Epic Games had been kicked out of the App Store after integrating a new payment method into Fortnite. A methodology that did not please Apple and had engaged the two companies in a legal tussle.

The American giant Apple should however be forced this year to tolerate alternative application stores. And according to Sweeney’s last tweet, the return of Fortnite would only be a formality.

On December 31, the Epic Games strongman tweeted “Next year on iOS!”
